In March and April, I am collaborating with three community partners to hold three public design charrettes to develop conceptual plans for three sites in Philadelphia’s lower-income neighborhoods. The workshops will have a specific focus on potential green stormwater infrastructure projects and recreational uses for these underutilized sites. About 30-35 participants are expected to take part in each workshop. 75% will be community residents or stakeholders while the rest will be invited professionals from throughout the city, including Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, Pennsylvania Horticulture Society, Pennsylvania Environmental Council, and Philadelphia Water Department. The events are sponsored by EPA’s Urban Waters grant, with local contributions for venues, promotion, and food. See below three flyers. Read details here.
